It is quite apparent that 2009 was a huge year for the C.O.B. and Slaughterhouse movements and it’s great to see the recognition that both camps have received. While several websites have already handed out their annual awards, the excitement has not come to an end just yet.

Recently, Defsounds.com announced their countdown for the top 25 albums of 2009. Of course, their list could not be complete without recognizing the incredible musical efforts from C.O.B. and Slaughterhouse. Firstly, the Hip Hop site announced that Slaughterhouse’s debut album ranked in at slot number three, only falling behind Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 and Eminem’s Relapse. Interestingly enough, the website blessed The Horse Shoe G.A.N.G.’s debut project Gangsta MC with the number seven slot. Due to the fact that this album took many fans by surprised, this is an incredible accomplishment. Additional awards that were handed out included Joe Budden’s Halfway House and Padded Room respectively ranking in at fourteen and sixteen and Royce Da 5’9″‘s Street Hop landing a spot at sixteen. Obviously, fans would love to see all these projects ranked slightly higher, but this is certainly a respectable list and Defsounds should be commended for their effort. The B.O.S.S. Board would like to congratulate all the artists listed for their accomplishments in the past year and wish them good look in 2010. If you are interested in viewing the list in full, please use the link included below.

We have little doubt that the C.O.B. and Slaughterhouse camps can pull additional awards in 2010. With projects such as Joell Ortiz’s Free Agent, Joe Budden’s The Great Escape and Crooked I’s Million Dollar Story on the horizon, there is no doubt that fans are in for a monumental start to this decade. As always, please keep it locked to The B.O.S.S. Board for further information regarding all of these upcoming projects.
