Wav samples needed
#1
Does anyone know where i can download some decent wav samples?
Not drum kits though, just synths/pianos or different sounds?

Thanks in advance.

http://www.freesound.org/ is decent for random sounds and effects in wav. Not sure if it provides actual instruments though.

I'd imagine it would be hard to find wav samples of instruments (not that I've ever tried), but if you are looking for free and low demanding on CPU sounds, I would look in to getting some soundfonts. These two sites are pretty good for soundfonts and there's countless others http://www.soundfonts.it/?a=soundfonts and http://hammersound.net/cgi-bin/soundlink.pl

Most sequencers have soundfont players. I use FL Studio and that has the "Fruity Soundfont Player" and all other good sequencers are likely to have an equivalent of this.

nice one bro !! I'll have a look at them as soon as i get home... i use reason and load wav samples through the NNXT machine on there..thats why i was asking for wav files, im not sure what to do with soundfonts, what file types are they in and would you be able to use them with reason? Sorry to ask so many questions but i'm (obviously) fairly new to making beats.

Have a look at this blog i found a while back, its got loads of drum kits/sounds to download, i was looking for something similar to download.

Thanks again!

I don't use Reason very often, but I'm fairly certain you can just load soundfonts in the NNXT as well. Here's 5 soundfonts which I think are decent if you wanna try it out: http://www.zshare.net/download/706173534e961f52/

Here's a simple tutorial showing you how to load them in Reason as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=waOKOIc2uUQ

Ahh, another FL Studio user! I just got my hands on 9.0, what a nice upgrade.

I need to get back into making beats though, I only use it for certain things now.

Have you ever thought about sending your beats to Crooked? You've definitely good connections so it might be worth a shot.

I've thought about it, definitely in the past, but now it's more of a hobby than anything.

Here's three snippets of beats I don't plan to use for my album that I'm willing to share. They still have annoying and random tags though because I'm still protective of them...sorry about that lol.

1st beat - Kinda epic I guess. Sounds a bit like film music. No sample used.
2nd beat - Classic soul sample used.
3rd beat - Mellow R&B track. No sample used.
