NOW THIS SOUTHERN RAP S**T HERE IS DOPE!
#1
Alot of rap/hip hop fans have critized southern hip hop for quite sometime for the lack of lyrics, lack of originality and lack of subject matter. Some even said flatout the south sucks period without even exploring the region for dope hip hop artists. I've listened to southern hip hop since ugk's ridin dirty album and i'm still on whos really rappin in the south. It's not that southern hip hop/rap sucks, it's mostly the mainstream muthafuckas with their repetitive hooks & beats, gibberish raps about material shit and stupid dances that would make you think that shit. In the south you've always had ugk, outkast, goodie mob etc. ya know who is dope in the south i ain't even got to name em off. I want to put you guys up on a few new emcees from the south that can really rhyme and reppin hip hop to the fullest. These are dudes that some of u here may not have heard of yet. Now ya should already be up on J. cole and Jay electronica, if not your sleeping. A couple of ppl here has already mentioned Yelawolf but here is a video of him for those who don't know yet.

damn how did i miss him? I'm not sure he's someone that i can sit down and just listen to but i can definitely see myself blaze up to his music haha. This jackie chan guy is interesting though.

Anyhow glad you enjoyed big krit, he's my most favorite of all of em. You can tell he's been greatly influenced by the early sounds of ugk, outkast, 8ball & mjg and goodie mob. Look up his album KRIT WUZ HERE, probably the best southern hip hop album to come out this year imo. ANYONE ELSE WANNA SHARE THERE THOUGHTS?
